Flooring

Hardwood, LVP and tile installed by craftsmen who care about the finish.

Subfloor prep, level checks, expansion gaps and clean transitions — the unglamorous parts that decide whether your floor still looks right in year five.

Why Prep Matters

Most "bad floors" are bad subfloors.

The plank you picked at the showroom isn't usually the problem. Squeaks, gaps, soft spots and cupping almost always trace back to subfloor prep that got skipped — missing screws, an uneven slab, no acclimation time, no moisture testing.

We do flooring as part of remodel work, which means we treat the subfloor and the install with the same rigor as the framing and finish carpentry. That's the difference between a floor that feels like a floor and one that feels like a project.

FAQ

Flooring questions, answered.

How much does flooring installation cost in Nashville?

Materials and install combined: LVP $5–9/sqft, engineered hardwood $8–14/sqft, solid hardwood $10–18/sqft, tile $9–20/sqft. Subfloor leveling, demo, and trim work add to the base.

Should I refinish or replace existing hardwood?

If your existing wood is real hardwood (not engineered) and has at least 1/8" of wear layer above the tongue, refinishing is usually a much better value. We'll tell you honestly which makes sense.

Hardwood vs LVP in Nashville?

Hardwood adds more long-term value and can be refinished. LVP is waterproof, more dent-resistant, and costs less. For high-traffic family areas LVP is hard to beat. For formal living, dining and primary bedrooms, hardwood holds up better.

How long does flooring take?

Most single-room installs run 2–4 days. Whole-home installs run 1–3 weeks depending on size and prep. Refinishing existing hardwood is typically 4–7 days.

Can I stay in the house during install?

Yes for most jobs. Refinishing involves stronger fumes — we usually recommend you stay elsewhere for the 24–48 hours of finish coats and cure.
